- Monmouth Guardian and Bargoed and Caerphilly Observer 10/10/1919: At a meeting of the Gelligaer Council on Tuesday, Mr W. J. Giles drew attention again to the state of the Deri Fire Station, and the delay of the council in proceeding with a new structure. He said that all the appliances were rotting away and the shed was not even suitable for the keeping of workmen's tools
